i know It sounds ridiculous (having one device with 3 different ip and via SNMP, that cost 2 valuable node space)
but it is a requirement.

Hi daveloper so this means that if we need complete visibility on ClearVM or ClearOS, we will have to work with them to better understand and how the monitoring setup can be established...Correct?
If it is a requirement we need to find a way... I assume discovery checks the additional IP addresses on the nodes and marks them as "duplicates" because this device is already managed (over the "main polling IP"). So I guess we need to get rid of the additional IP addresses on the node, then we might to be able to add the nodes again with a different IP.
One thing that makes me scratch my head is -> once the rediscovery runs, the additional IP Addresses will be added again, so we need to increase the rediscovery interval so that we will be able to add the nodes.
Do you have a list with the IP addresses and additional Information so that you could possibly add the nodes by an API-Script? This might make life a little easier.
Cheers
by API-Scricpt? how?
i have the list.
I don't think you could split any variables perse. Though you could nest variables inside of other variables if you take a look at this: Node and configuration archive variables - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support, perhaps that's of use.
Found this article very helpful. I've got production, and non-production nodes and I need to give file access to the non-production configs for various team members. Made it worlds easier to do this when I can simply give them inherited access to a single folder, as opposed to manually on each NCM group underneath.
So my archive location now looks like this: ${n_impact}\${NodeGroup}\${Caption}\${Date}\${Caption}-${ConfigType}.Config
Works great!
This is definitely a must for most of the work I do as well. We own SolarWinds IPAM but went out and bought another IPAM product that had full API integration to work with our automation processes. SolarWinds IPAM was left for the NOC to use for alerting/visibility into DHCP/DNS.
I have same issue i stopped the service but issue still there, Even i completed the configuration wizard but not luck to resolve the issue,
Is there any way we can fix the ncm indexing issue?.
thanks
K
Don't sweat it

thanks this is quite helpful collection of scripts.
I found another article on orion website that helped me to resolve this.
Disable Duplicate Detector for Discovery Engine - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
I changed the default and current weight values to 0 of following settingid in setting table
Discovery-Import-SysNameDeDuplicator-Weight
Discovery-Import-DNSDeDuplicator-Weight
Discovery-Import-MacDuplicateDetector-Weight
discovery worked although there was an exception warning but nodes were successfully added. After this I faced "redirection to error page" after every page refresh event. To avoid this I revert back the default values and every this back to normal again.
That's a very cool way of doing it on the nodes page. I may have to play with that for some of our devices. Nice use of stensils. Though... surely no simple task on a rack size MLXe or Cisco 9k lol.
Dito what zackm has mentioned, as far as improvements around Network Atlas goes.
Specifically being able to show interface utilization when both ends aren't monitored.
We would like to use the API to integrate IPAM with Service Now......
There are actually very few exclusive updates... but there are definitely updates that have to reboot before all other updates are done and can take several "rounds" of reboots to complete all, especially if you are only patching once a month. Currently patch manager is working on a "patch until its done" system but for now I just have my machines patching every day once approved (which I do on fridays) and then servers on saturdays. If servers still need more installed I may do them manually monday morning.
Integrate with an internal application that manages an assigns IP Addressing schemes for our retail stores globally
How can I simulate a test on this alert? Also how can I display this table on the dashboard?
Thank you for your feedback, tml. I am sorry to hear of all the pain and frustration you've had with the product but, greatful that you are helping us understand some of the specifics. There is a new Product Manager on WHD and your comments have been sent on to the boarder team.
To add a "details" resource for a specific object to a summary view, you need to use the Custom Object Resource. This resource is a magic wrapper for other resources. First add a Custom Object Resource to your summary view. Then click its Edit button, pick "Groups" for "Choose object type", and then use the picker to choose the specific group you want to show. Then finally you can choose "Custom Properties for Groups" under "Select object resource". If you need to do any tweaking to this resource (such as choosing which custom properties to show), those options will be shown below.
Still waiting for 26.0.0.131 which came out late last week.
