A couple of things to note. RC2 was replaced by RC3 a couple weeks back. If you haven't yet upgraded yet I suggest doing so. Second, essentially all information configuration/settings/metrics/etc. are stored in the SQL database. You could delete the VM entirely if you wanted and re-install SAM onto a completely new machine. When prompted for the database during the Configuration Wizard, simply point it at the previous installs configured database server and original database, and the entirety of your original servers configuration will be preserved.
