We have about 500 elements in our Orion engine including some SAM, netflows logging, and other NPM. We are thinking about taking the Orion server off of a virtual machine and giving it dedicated hardware so that it might be more separated from hardware events on the monitored hyper-v servers. We would want to put the sql database on the same server. This leads me to the question, Have you tried the Orion engine on the same physical server as the sql database? How did that work for you? What sort of hardware did you require?
