nmap is usually my first stop in diagnosing a problem, then native Windows tools like netstat and nbtstat come in handy. I spend a lot of time in vSphere, so RVTools gets heavy airplay. esxtop, too. I like mrtg for fast access to historical data, and SolarWinds Orion NPM for everything else.
